HATHA YOGA

Hatha Yoga is over 5000 years old. It is an ancient eastern discipline that develops strength, endurance, flexibility and balance. It strengthens the nervous system, and promotes realignment of the body. It reduces stress within both the body and the mind. Hatha Yoga is done with a meditative pacing.
VINYASA YOGA
(G, P, AL)
Vinyasa Yoga takes Hatha poses and links them in a gently flowing sequence insterspersed with static poses. Poses are linked to breath movement, which helps build strength, endurance, flexibility and balance, whilst improving cardiovascular ability. More vigourous than Hatha Yoga, but less vigorous than Power Yoga. No previous experience required.
YIN YOGA
(G, P, AL)
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the body that the more active styles of Yoga practice do not. It achieves stimulation and release of the tendons, ligaments, bones, and joints through long holds and a deeper awareness. Suitable for all student levels, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of the muscles. Highly beneficial for all, Yin Yoga focuses upon the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. No previous experience required. Students are asked to bring two towels to class with them. Yoga blocks are also a good addition if you have them.
KUNDALINI HATHA YOGA

The dormant potential energy coiled at the base of the spine in each one of us is called Kundalini. Kundalini Hatha takes the meditative flow and grace of Hatha Yoga and infuses it with the inner focus upon breath and spirit that are the hallmarks of Kundalini Yoga. This practice works to clear the male and female energy channels of the body, bringing balance to the chakric system, and evoking the spirit. This class is recommended for those wishing to evolve their practice beyond the physical and into the more spiritual, energetic realm. No previous yoga experience required.
MOKSHA-INSPIRED YOGA
(G, P, AL)
Moksha-Inspired Yoga uses the Moksha sequence of Hatha poses to open and strengthen the entire body, with special emphasis place upon releasing the hips and spine. This class is both challenging and relaxing, and as a result is accessible to all student levels. The class is taught in regular temperatures to help ensure both student comfort and safety throughout the practice. No previous yoga experience required.
POWER YOGA
(G, P, I, A)
Power Yoga takes Hatha poses and links them in a flowing sequence. It builds considerable strength and flexibility whilst greatly improving cardiovascular ability. Previous yoga experience required.
ADVANCED POSTURES
(G, P, I, A)
This class focuses on the execution of advanced postures such as headstand, handstand, peacock, etc. Each class will be built around one or more advanced posture. Appropriate yoga poses will be used to help open and strengthen students appropriately in preparation for performing each advanced posture. This class is highly recommended for those wishing to further their asana practice. Previous yoga experience required.
RESTORATIVE YOGA
(G, P, AL)
Restorative Yoga is designed to gently support the body throughout yoga postures with the use of physical props and deep connective breathing. This style helps to rebalance and heal the body. Restorative yoga is very suited to those with arthritis (osteo and rheumatoid), fibromyalgia, scoliosis and musculoskeletal injuries. Those regaining range of motion post stroke and/or surgery may also greatly benefit from this class. Previous yoga experience not required. Students taking this class are required to bring a small blanket or beach towel and yoga strap to class.
PRE-NATAL YOGA
(G, P, AL)
Designed to be practiced by pregnant students during all three of their trimesters. Hatha poses are modified appropriately to cater to the needs of individual body changes and experiences during pregnancy. Pre-Natal Yoga also prepares the student's body for labour so that the experience is more enjoyable and the post-labour healing is faster and more complete. Previous yoga experience not required. Students are advised to seek medical clearance before beginning any exercise program during pregnancy.
SPECIALTY YOGA PROGRAMS

These Specialty Programs are designed to be both preventative and rehabilitative. They are run as Private Yoga Training in order to address the specific physical needs of each student’s body.

MAT PILATES

Pilates is an exercise system that has been greatly influenced by the discipline of Yoga. It emphasizes the development of a balanced body through the activation of core strength, flexibility, focus, and awareness. Pilates builds integrated inner and outer strength which elongates and defines musculature. These classes are recommended for all levels.
